Golden light over El Grifo, Lanzarote

Green vines make their way through black volcanic stone at El Grifo in Lanzarote. Above them, a golden sky lifts the low hills out of the darker ground. The wide view lets the rows carry the eye across the vineyard, with light, stone and new growth all playing their part. It is a busy working winery, with a fantastic museum on site, and the wine is pretty good too. Photograph by Paul Smith-Keitley.
