That view !!

That view !!

I first discovered Las Nieves in Lanzarote completely by accident. While exploring the island's back roads, I came across a tiny chapel perched on top of a hill. Curious, I wandered around behind it and was met with an astonishing sight: a sheer cliff dropping almost 700 metres to the Atlantic Ocean below.

That first visit sparked an idea. Low clouds were drifting across the landscape, and I imagined how incredible the scene would look if the cloud layer sat below the cliff tops, turning the ocean of air beneath into something almost otherworldly.

The vision stayed with me for years. Each time I returned, I hoped for the perfect conditions, but they never quite came together. Then, nearly five years after that chance discovery, everything aligned. The clouds rolled in below the cliffs exactly as I had imagined, and I finally captured the photograph I had been waiting for. This is that image.
